Field endocrinology is a new focus as well as a new method in primatology and behavioral ecology. Hormonal data from animals in their natural habitats and populations illuminate the adaptive function of hormone-behavior interactions.  Noninvasive methods enable daily collections of hormone samples without disrupting of animal activities.
