Phytoestrogens

Phytoestrogens include isoflavonoids common in soybeans and other legumes, lignans common in grains, and flavones and flavonols that are widespread in angiosperms. Mycoestrogens are plant contaminants produced by fungus. Some phenolic acids are not estrogens but are known to suppress gonadal function in rodents.
