David Pierce, LMSW, MT-BC, is the new Graduate Program Coordinator in the Department of Anthropology. David works with our PhD students, managing academic and financial processes for these students. He also manages the graduate recruitment process and is the contact person for inquiries about the Emory Anthropology PhD program.

David PierceDavid Pierce is a licensed Master Social Worker, a Board Certified Music Therapist, dedicated lifelong learner, and remains committed to issues of social justice and public health. 

David has a considerable background in the non-profit sector – having worked at Lambda Legal, AID Atlanta, GLSEN, Hospice of Palm Beach County and the University Hospitals of Cleveland.  A North Carolina native, David earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from the University of Miami, and a Master of Social Work from Georgia State University. 

Prior to coming onboard with the Anthropology Department in October 2008, David served as the Admissions Advisor for Certificate Programs for three years at Emory’s Center for Lifelong Learning.
